A College investigation was conducted into whether Dr. Sanders engaged in professional misconduct and/or is incompetent his internal medicine practice. As a result of the investigation:

Dr. Sanders will only prescribe lidocaine for administration in a hospital or Out-of-Hospital Premises as defined in Part XI of Ontario Regulation 1114/94 under the Medicine Act, 1991 and the College’s Out-of-Hospital Premises Inspection Program Standards.

Dr. Sanders will engage in professional education in chronic pain management, informed consent discussions, and medical record-keeping.

Dr. Sanders’s practice will be reassessed by an assessor selected by the College within 6 months of the end of the period of Clinical Supervision and the completion of the professional education.
