Dr. Fried was the subject of a College investigation into whether he, in his general medicine practice, including prescribing narcotics, engaged in professional misconduct or is incompetent. As a result of the investigation:

Dr. Fried will practise under the guidance of a Clinical Supervisor acceptable to the College for six (6) months.

Dr. Fried will engage in professional education in Review the Canadian Guidelines for Safe and Effective Opioids for Chronic and Non-Cancer Pain and prepare a written summary thereof as they pertain to his practice.

Dr. Fried’s practice will be reassessed by an assessor selected by the College within three (3) months of the end of the period of Clinical Supervision.
