On December 13, 2021, the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal found that Dr. Wardle committed the following act of professional misconduct:

  • engaging in an act or omission relevant to the practice of medicine that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by registrants as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional.

On the same date, the Tribunal ordered that:

  1. the registrant attend before the panel to be reprimanded;
  2. the Registrar suspend the registrant’s certificate of registration for 5 months effective immediately;
  3. the Registrar place terms, conditions and limitations on the registrant’s certificate of registration; and
  4. the registrant pay the College costs in the amount of $6,000 by January 12, 2022.

Following a public complaint initiated in February 2023, a College investigation was conducted into Dr. Wardle’s care of and conduct towards a patient in his cosmetic surgery practice.  Dr. Wardle resigned his certificate of registration with the College in August 2023 and has agreed never to apply or reapply for registration as a physician in Ontario.
