On October 6, 2023, the Ontario Physicians and Surgeons Discipline Tribunal found that Dr. Trozzi committed the following acts of professional misconduct:

• failing to maintain the standard of practice of the profession;
• failing to respond appropriately or within a reasonable time to a written inquiry from the College; and
• engaging in an act or omission relevant to the practice of medicine that, having regard to all the circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by registrants as disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional.

The Tribunal also found that the registrant is incompetent.

On January 24, 2024, the Tribunal ordered that:

1. the registrant attend before the panel to be reprimanded;
2. the Registrar revoke the registrant’s certificate of registration effective January 25, 2024 at 12:01 a.m.; and
3. the registrant pay the College costs in the amount of $94,960 by February 23, 2024.

On February 23, 2024, Dr. Trozzi filed a Notice of Appeal with the Divisional Court appealing the Tribunal’s order dated January 24, 2024.

As set out in s. 71 of the Health Professions Procedural Code, this order remains in effect despite the appeal.
